For now, it seemed as if our party was safe. As reinforcements from the House of Denar arrived in town for the first time since the rain started some hours outside of Ashenport, our party could rest, recover, and regroup. OmniMax himself arrived some hours later to interview the party and assess the damage. As the gathering army searched the town, a cave was discovered beneath the peaks south of The Gleaming Dawn. OmniMax declared that the caves must be cleaned and the source of evil banished but that it was best if two days were to pass first to delay for more reinforcements to arrive.
Our heroes didn’t want to wait. With thoughts of treasure and fame, our party climbed down the rocks toward the cave opening, visible only on low tide. At the bottom they were met with both the cave and what was later described as “an abominable conglomeration of clacking claws, writhing legs, and wriggling antennae” and “the grotesque offspring of lobster and beetle walking upright like a man.” The Wrath of Dagon, amphibious ripper of legend emerged from the salt water.
